The Anointing of the Holy Spirit

(Read Job 1 & 29)

Haggai 1:1-4 1In the second year of Darius the king, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the LORD came by the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying, 2“Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘This people says, “The time has not come, even the time for the house of the LORD to be rebuilt.”’” 3Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4“Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses while this house lies desolate?”

(The people of Israel were too complacent in their own houses. They were not concerned that the temple was desolate and they had no passion for revival. They were unaware of the need to re-establish the presence of God in their lives.)

Haggai 1:5-8 5Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts, “Consider your ways! 6“You have sown much, but harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but no one is warm enough; and he who earns, earns wages to put into a purse with holes.”7Thus says the LORD of hosts, “Consider your ways! 8“Go up to the mountains, bring wood and rebuild the temple, that I may be pleased with it and be glorified,” says the LORD.

(God shows the people that their blessings are limited because they do not have His presence. His presence will only come to them if they re-build the temple.)

Haggai 1:14 14So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God

(God says things to Zerubbabel and Joshua (the son of the high priest) that stirs their spirit to the degree that they believe that the re-building of the temple can and will be done.)

Zechariah 4:6-9 6Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts. 7‘What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”8Also the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 9“The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will finish it. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.

(Success would not come through Zerubbabel’s power or might but success would come God’s way by the Spirit of God. And what does the Spirit of God bring? The anointing! Zerabbabel would receive a supernatural anointing by the Spirit of God to see the project through to the end.)

Isaiah 49:11 “I will make all My mountains a road, And My highways will be raised up.

(When there is a task in front of us that seems impossible – when we come to a cross-roads in our lives – when we wonder how to get from point A to point B – when we are overwhelmed by obstacles that are stopping a great move in our lives – we are wondering how we are ever going to fulfill what God called us to; there is fresh anointing available to us.)

Psalm 90:17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.

(It is God’s desire to confirm and establish the works of my hands.)

Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah

(God wants to load me up with benefits every day. I expect it!)

Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.

(Through faith I expect God to anoint me with new and fresh oil to perform every impossible task to His glory.)

Lamentations 3:22-26 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.”25The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.26It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the LORD.
Matthew 6:11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.

(God is faithful; in the desert He provided fresh Manna everyday to the Israelites. God has more than enough fresh anointing for me everyday.)

Affirmations:

I have an expectation of new oil and fresh oil from God everyday.
I have been anointed with fresh oil.
God is going to exalt my strength and nothing is ever going to be the same because I expect God will give me His daily bread.
God gives me daily revelation every morning; God has the bread of revelation for me.
God is faithful.
