Power To Become

(Read Philippians 3 & Matthew 28)

Luke 7:26-28 26“But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and one who is more than a prophet. 27“This is the one about whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’28“I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

(When John the Baptist arrived on the scene two millennia ago, he was the last of a long line of voices sent to prepare people for a major change in :
1. the way they were living
2. in the outcomes they were getting.
Jesus said that of all men born of women there was none greater than John.

John represented a major shift in reality, both internal and external. John was:
1. the “forerunner” for the “new thing” God was doing and
2. saw a new day dawning in which people were going to finally become what they deeply wanted to become yet never had the power to do so.)

Isaiah 43:18-19 18 “Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past.19“Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

(John the Baptist represents, in our day, the internal awareness the Holy Spirit brings to us when we are paying attention i.e. when we have ‘ears to hear’ – a change is coming and is already on the way.)

Ephesians 1:18-19 18I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might

John 1:12 12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
Genesis 1:8 8God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

(As born-again believers we carry the kind of power other people desperately long for i.e. the resurrection power of Christ – the power to “become”. I am living at two levels at once in my life:
1. I have a present state of being that is based on where I have been up until this point in my life.
2. Who I am being is the sum total of everything I have thought, said, felt and done up until now – that is my current reality.
3. At the same time, I have God given dreams and hopes of what I imagine what I can BECOME.
4. Whatever I imagine is possible for my future will either expand or contract my reality. Heaven was originally called the expanse or more literally “the expander”.
5. I am a citizen of a expansive reality that is greater than my natural eye can see. When I choose to behold that expansive reality and choose to cooperate with the invisible laws of the kingdom of heaven (the kingdom of expansion) I expand my reality as well as my potential to BECOME who I really am in God.)

2 Corinthians 3:18 18But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. As we are BECOMING mature sons and daughters in Christ:
1. We are perceptive to the coming changes before they arrive because
2. We are listening deeply to the voice of the Spirit.
3. When we are in a “FORERUNNING” mode we are first to perceive significant movement from within before it is manifested without. It is part of the process that enables us to give up who we have been and become who we are!

AFFIRMATIONS:
1. I carry within me the resurrection power of Christ – I have the power to BECOME.

2. I am ready to EXPAND my reality and become the destiny for which I have been predestined.
