The Sound of the Lord

(Read Psalm 47 & 98)

Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard. Their £line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
Psalm 16:6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.

(The word “line” has been translated “sound”. Both words, line and sound are significant and strategic in their meaning for, in essence, they both relate to the building process. The word of God is a plumbed line. A plumb line is defined as “a line with a weight attached to verify true vertical alignment.” It is a tool for measuring in order to evaluate what is built or a measure by which one can begin to build. The word of God becomes a plumb line for appraising us and provides a reference point for all we do in the kingdom.)

John 3:8 “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
2 Samuel 5:23-24 23When David inquired of the LORD, He said, “You shall not go directly up; circle around behind them and come at them in front of the £balsam trees. 24“It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the £balsam trees, then you shall act promptly, for then the LORD will have gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
2 Kings 7:6-7 For the Lord had caused the army of the Arameans to hear a sound of chariots and a sound of horses, even the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.” 7Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys, even the camp just as it was, and fled for their life.

(The wind is known by its sound, and by its effect. Whenever the Spirit moves there is a spiritual sound coming from the spirit realm. When David was going to war against the Philistines he was instructed to wait for a sound in the tops of the balsam trees. In Elisha’s day the Arameans were made to hear a noise of chariots and a noise of horses – the noise of a great army which caused them to flee in great confusion.)

John 12:27-29 27“Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28“Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.” 29So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, “An angel has spoken to Him.”

(Jesus taught us to pray for earth to manifest what is already in heaven. How is it to be done? God will use spiritual sound that will be unintelligible to spiritual wickedness and hidden from man’s natural mind.)

Genesis 1:3 3Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Romans 4:17 17(as it is written, “A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.

(It has been speculated that the core component of matter is something of kin to sound. Sound is the chief ingredient in the things that God builds. Sound was used to assemble the creation – Today, when God builds; He continues to do so using sound. When He determines to do something He begins by, “calling those things that are not as though they were.” Thus, sound is instrumental in revealing the glory of God.)

Romans 8:22-23 22For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.

(Creation is releasing a groan, which is not a word, but the sound of spiritual birth. This sound is echoed in us as we yearn for the revelation of the glory of God. We are like instruments that resonates with the sounds coming from heaven – the approaching rule of the King of kings. The spiritual sound is not random indefinite sound. Rather it speaks with an intelligence not registered with the natural mind of man. It is a sound which speaks and reveals knowledge to those with ears to hear.)

Summary: 1 Corinthians 4:20 - "For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power."

(We are growing in our capacity to release His sound. More and more clarity is emerging, helping us to define what it is to walk in the authority of the Spirit. We have begun to understand that it is not a matter of formulas, nor is it a matter of “correct words”; but it is a spiritual sound aligning with the heart and nature of God. Our hearts are being drawn to the sound of the Lord. It was through sound that the stars and the expanse of heaven came into being, even so, God speaks again, through creation and through redeemed man.)

Affirmations:

1. The sounds of heaven have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.

2. I reveal spiritual thoughts with spiritual words, as the Spirit leads me.

3. I am growing in my capacity to release spiritual sound aligning with the heart and nature of God.
