The Power of Prophetic Decrees

(Read Matthew 16 and Colossians 3)

Ephesians 1:4,11 4just as He chose us in £Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love 11also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,

(There are things that have always been in the eternal purposes of God – it’s just that they are not in the natural realm yet. But the promises of God, in the invisible by the eye of faith, embrace it in the invisible and bring it to earth.)

1 Corinthians 14:1 1Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 

Ephesians 1:17 17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.

Hebrews 1:14 14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

(Heavenly prophetic decrees and proclamations hasten the fulfillment of God’s word over our lives. When we learn how to make prophetic decrees and proclamations in our own lives God is able to do a whole lot more, a whole lot faster in us and through us. He also releases angels to battle the forces of the enemy to bring us to what is rightfully ours.)

Matthew 16:13-19 13Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” 15He said* to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”

(Peter’s revelation came from heaven. We may also receive divine revelation like Peter – a prophetic word, or vision, or dream perhaps, an illumined scripture from God.)

Matthew 16:18 - “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

Ephesians 3:3 3that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief.

(Upon this rock – “the rock of revelation I am building” – upon the rock of being able to hear what your Father in heaven is saying; flesh and blood does not reveal this to you.)

Jeremiah 24:6; 42:10 6‘For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land; and I will build them up and not overthrow them, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. 10‘If you will indeed stay in this land, then I will build you up and not tear you down, and I will plant you and not uproot you; for I will relent concerning the calamity that I have inflicted on you.

(The purpose of the Lord is to build us up and not pull us down, plant us and not pluck us up. So when God gives us a new heavenly revelation it is to build and plant us. It is to build and plant some thing in you and through you. It is to build, plant, loose, birth and bring to pass His word with the help of the Holy Spirit. Conversely, there are some things we have to tear down in the spirit, those forces opposing the fulfillment of God’s word.)

Matthew 16:19 - “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”

(Scripture says He has given us the keys to the kingdom. The keys are every prophetic word we have had and every revelation we have had. The keys open up the heavens and loose thing in heaven so what God has said about you in heaven can come to pass on earth. With that “destiny word” you can build or pull down, plant or pluck up and bring your destiny to it’s fulfillment.)

Summary:

When God speaks to us He is not asking us to believe that we can. He is trying to change our identity so that we will! When He gives us a prophetic word it becomes potential in us – He is giving a key to unlock that possibility. We must posture ourselves to realize that potential. God’s reason for giving us revelation is to excite, edify and encourage us to press on toward the mark – they are filled with possibility.

Affirmations:

I embrace, confess and declare God’s promise into the heavens.

Prophetic decrees made into heaven have the power to revolutionize my life.

I learn to use the keys handed to me through dreams, visions, and words from the Lord.
