Three Aspects of the Spirit

#1 - Conscience

The conscience discerns right and wrong and is not influenced by knowledge or outward persuasion. Conscience will condemn sometimes when one’s reasoning condones.

Scriptural examples of the functioning of the conscience:

John 13:21 After Jesus had said these things, He was troubled (disturbed, agitated) in spirit and said, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, one of you will betray Me.

Acts 17:16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred within him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies together with our own spirit that we are the children of God.

1 Corinthians 5:3 For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present.

2 Corinthians 2:13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I went from thence to Macedonia.
