Scripture of the Day - PASSING THE BATON

John 12:36 - While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.

Jesus came as the light of the world. He then passed the baton to us announcing that we are the light of the world. Jesus came as the miracle worker. He said that we would do "greater works" than He did (John 14:12).

He then says "right now the Holy Spirit is with you, but He's going to be in you (John 14:17)

AFFIRMATIONS

In my walk I place a higher value on the presence of God than others do.

I have a passion to give Him preeminence in everything.

That passion brings me into a supernatural life -- one with the constant activity of the Holy Spirit working through me.

Scripture of the Day - DRYNESS

Psalm 13:1 -- "How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide your face from me?"

Believers want to know God. God's wisdom is to let us 'taste' dryness that we might become desperate enough to seek for living water.

Many misinterpret the dryness and become so discouraged that they stop seeking God altogether and even stop attending church. But God desires that, in our desperation, we step into a NEW AND FRESH dimension of hearing His voice.

True change always comes when we find ourselves sick of where we are. It is after these seasons of dryness that the Holy Spirit catapults us into a fresh dimension of Himself.

Matthew 5:6 -- "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."

Isaiah 43:18,19 -- "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

Scripture of The Day - LIFTING OUR MINDS

1 Peter 4:7,8 - The end of all things is upon us, so you must lead an ordered and sober live, given to PRAYER. Above all, keep your love for one another at full strength, because love cancels innumerable sins.

It is an old custom of the servants of God to have some little prayer ready and to be frequently darting them up to Heaven during the day, lifting their minds to God out of the mire of this world. He who adopts this plan will get great fruits with little pains.

Scripture of The Day - BEING AT HOME

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 - We realize that being "at home"in the body means that to some extent we are "away" from the Lord, for we have to live by trusting Him without seeing Him. We are so sure of this that we would really rather be "away" from the body and be "at home" with the Lord.

QUESTIONS TO ASK MYSELF:

Am I more comfortable walking by faith than by what I see?

Am I becoming more at home in the heavenly realm that in the natural?

Where is my home?

When I think of home, where do I think of first?

Scripture of The Day - SPIRITUAL GROWTH

John 6:55,56,60 -- "'For my flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.' Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, 'this is a hard saying; who can understand it?'"

John 6:63 -- "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life."

OBSERVATION:

If I don't feed myself on stuff that is Holy Spirit food -- if I only feed myself on stuff that I understand then I have stunted my own spiritual growth.

When I only say amen to things that I comprehend then I have just decided to live a very dwarfed spiritual life. What I have done is fashoned a god that looks much like me because he is the one that I can comprehend.

Galatians 5:25 -- "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

John 16:13 -- "However when He, the Sprit of truth, has come, He will guild you into all truth."

The Holy Spirit ministers to your Spirit and in that context they (the Holy Spirit and your spirit) teach your mind what to think. That is how you come into a "renewed mind".

Some believers tend to think that revelation in the mind affects the human spirit, but that is the "carnal Christian life", because that's the soul in charge of the spirit.

The mind is so important that Jesus gave His life to protect our minds and the freedom that we have to think for ourselves. What sin does -- it makes us robots because it restricts all our choices to an evil nature.

Scripture of The Day - YIELDED TO THE FATHER

Mark 4:39 -- "Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace, be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm."

John 14:12 -- "He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works that these he will do, because I go to My Father"

Jesus did not come to show us what God can do. He came to show us what one man can do who was wholly yielded to the Father.

Affirmations

I FORGET THE PAST AND REACH FOR THOSE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS CALLED ME.

I PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.

I CONFESS TODAY THAT I YIELD MY HEART TO GOD'S WORD SO THAT RIGHT THINKING, RIGHT BELIEVING, AND RIGHT SPEAKING BECOMES A WAY OF LIFE FOR ME.

Hebrews 3:1 - "Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession."

Scripture of The Day - TEST YOURSELF

Ephesians 2:17-19 - "And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household."

In 2 Corinthians 13:5 we are exhorted to "test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!"
One of the primary tests of whether we are continuing on the path of life is by the peace in our life. Jesus is the prince of peace, and if we are walking close to Him there will be a peace in our life that exceeds anything that can be know in this world without Him.

THINGS FOR ME TO CONSIDER

If there is lack of peace in my life, then I have drifted from Him.

What has come into my life that has begun to eclipse my relationship with Him?

Scripture of The Day - RECEIVING FROM OUR SPIRIT

Ephesians 3:16 - "That according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in your inner being."

When we learn to receive from our spirit, our mind becomes the student and is therefore subject to the Holy Spirit. Through the process of revelation and experience our mind eventually obtains understanding. That is biblical learning -- the spirit giving influence to the mind.

Galatians 5:25 - "If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."

Scripture of The Day - THE DOORS THROUGH WHICH WE ENTER GOD'S ETERNAL KINGDOM

John 17:16,17 - They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

LIFE, AS WE PERCEIVE IT, IS BASED UPON WHATEVER NETWORK OF THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS WE ARE CURRENTLY ALLOWING TO GOVERN OUR SOULS.
ON THE OTHER HAND, GOD DEFINES REALITY AS THE "TRUTH" FOUND IN HIS WORD.

FOR US TO TRAVEL FROM OUR WORLD INTO THE REALITY OF GOD, WE MUST VIEW JESUS' WORDS AS DOORS THROUGH WHICH WE ENTER GOD'S ETERNAL KINGDOM.
IN THE COMBINED MEANING OF ALL JESUS TAUGHT, WE FIND THE REALITY OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD. VICTORY COMES WHEN WE LINE OURSELVES UP TO THE REALITY OF GOD'S LIFE.

Scripture of The Day - SEEING JESUS IN US

Matthew 4:25,5:1,2 - "And there followed Him great multitudes of people from Galilee and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan. And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain: and when He was set, His disciples came unto him: and He opened His mouth and taught them."

THESE LOCAL COMMUNITIES LEFT ALL WHEN THEY HEARD JESUS WAS NEAR. WITHOUT FORETHOUGHT, WITHOUT PACKING A DONKEY, WITHOUT SO MUCH AS TAKING EXTRA FOOD OR TELLING THOSE WHO REMAINED AT HOME WHEN TO EXPECT THEM, THOUSANDS OF MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN SPONTANEOUSLY FOLLOWED CHRIST TO A DESOLATE PLACE.

BUT WE READ OF NO ONE COMPLAINING THAT THE "SERVICE WAS TOO LONG," OR "THE WEATHER TOO HOT," OR "THE MESSAGE WAS BORING." WHATEVER THEY LACKED IN COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE WAS OVERSHADOWED BY THE GLORY OF BEING WITH JESUS!

PEOPLE SAW IN JESUS MEEKNESS, UNLIMITED POWER AND PERFECT LOVE. IF WE WOULD WIN SOULS, PEOPLE MUST SEE IN US THIS SAME JESUS.
