THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – December 16, 2020

When the patriarch Jacob ran away from his enraged brother, he went to sleep on a stone pillow in a land that seemed desolate. But after dreaming about heaven and angels, he awoke and exclaimed: “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.”

His discovery was not only for Jacob but for all who seek Him.  Whenever you feel distant from Him, say: “Surely the Lord is in this place!” Then, ask Him to give you awareness of His Presence.

                                       Meditation:

Isaiah 54:3-5: "Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited. Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; for you will forget the shame of your youth.....for your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth."

We are about to expand beyond our imagination. We need to prepare for the feast that is being prepared for us. Psalm 23:5 says, "God will prepare a table of feasting for us in the very presence of our enemies." God is preparing a table for us, a table of feasting.

We have to make room for what He is about to bring into our life.

"Strengthen your stakes." means the walls, or stakes (your faith and expectation) must be able to support what God is bringing into your life.

It is time to expand our cords - make large the place - and prepare our hearts. It is time to expand our capacity to receive. It's feasting time in the presence of the Lord!

It's time to break out!
