THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – December 2, 2020

In your private thoughts, you are still trying to order your world so that it is predictable and feels safe.  Not only is this an impossible goal, but it is also counterproductive to spiritual growth.

When your private world feels unsteady and you look to God for support, you are living in conscious dependence on Him. Instead of yearning for a problem-free life, rejoice that trouble can highlight your awareness of His Presence. Accept the value of problems in this life, considering them pure joy.

James 1:2 – “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.”

                                       Meditation:

"But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place." - 2 Corinthians 2:14

God ALWAYS leads us into victory.  The promise is not that He will help us avoid challenges or difficulties or battles.  Actually, it is just the opposite. He leads us into them so that we can enforce the victory that we already have been given in Christ and collect our spoils! Yes, there are giants in the land today. But it is time for us to stop being intimidated, hiding on the sidelines, and running away like the army of Israel in 1 Samuel 17:23-24.

It is time for us to arise and advance like David – knowing and declaring our God (1 Samuel 17:37,46-47).

"Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you." - Joshua 3:5
