2. Inheritance in Christ
Read the epistle 2 Peter

The epistle was probably written from Rome just befor Peter's martyrdom in that city about A.D. 68.

Peter warns that false teachers from within the church will rise up in the future to lead believers astray. The church should be on guard against such heresies.

The second coming of Jesus and the final judgment (1 Thess. 4:13-17) will happen in God's own time. The fact that they haven't yet happened doesn't mean that God is slow or apathetic. Rather, He is loving and long-suffering waiting for others to respond to His offer of salvation. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

While waiting for the Lord to return, Peter declares that believers should live as holy and godly people, continuing to "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Thess. 3:6-15)

Affirmations (Repeat and Meditate on These as You Go Throughout the Day):

He has granted to me His exceeding great and precious promises, that through these I might escape from the corruption that is in the world through lust and become a partaker of the devine nature. (II Peter 1:4)

I have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of God who has called me to glory and virtue. (II Peter 1:3)

3. Dunamis Life

SPEAKING FROM YOUR SPIRIT

2 Corinthians 4:13 -- We have the same spirit of faith as he (the psalmist) who wrote, 'I have believed and therefore have spoken.' We too believe, and therefore we speak.

To speak by faith is simply to speak words that agree with the word of God instead of the circumstances around you.... It's speaking from your spirit instead of from your mind.

The Bible tells us that God uses words to "call those things which be not as though they were" (Romans 4:17).

Affirmations

I speak the end result of what God's word tells me about my situation as opposed to the way it appears to the senses.

I stop "telling it like it is" and start speaking and believing the promises of God.

I put the power of God's word to work for me.

Proverbs 18:21 -- Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Into Action
