Macedonians

Macedonia a region composed of many cities that the Apostle Paul visited during his 2nd and 3rd missionary journeys. He sent others as well unto Macedonia…most noted cities in Scripture are Philippi, Thessalonica, and Berea.

The call to Macedonia and the call to Cornelius’ home both came as visions to the Paul and Peter. We know it was Cornelius who sent for Peter. The man who called for Paul to “come over and help us” remains unknown.

They were called "examples to all believers." Their giving was sacrificial. They gave in spite of the adversities and great trials they suffered. In our key text, 2 Cor 8:1-5, Paul drives home that the grace of God bestowed upon them was a result of their giving.

This “Grace” is mentioned 10 times in chapters 8 & 9. And it comes to us from the Greek word “Charis” (G5485) from “Chairo.”(G5463) Strong’s defines this as:

“To rejoice. Grace, particularly that which causes joy, pleasure, gratification, favor, acceptance, for a kindness granted or desired, a benefit, thanks, gratitude. A favor done without expectation of return; the absolutely free expression of the loving kindness of God to men finding its only motive in the bounty and benevolence of the Giver; unearned and unmerited favor…”

In these chapters, it is translated “grace” 7 times, “thanks” 2 and "gift" 1.

Is it no wonder that the book of Philippians is called “the Book of Joy?” How many sermons have we heard or lessons have we taught on the books that bear their names?

Through their great trials and afflictions their abundance of joy triumphs over their afflictions. They rejoice in being counted worthy to suffer for the Gospel’s sake.

They are true followers of Christ’s example. Even in their “deep poverty” they “abounded unto the riches of their liberality.” They were willing to give beyond their ability to give.

They begged and pleaded not for their needs to be met. Rather their testimony is one of begging and pleading for the opportunity to give. And their giving began with the giving of their own self.

How many sermons have been written and preached from Romans 12:1-2? This is also one of the 1st scriptures memorized in churches today. But the Macedonians lived Romans 12:1-2 for our example.

Not only did they give themselves unto God, they became God’s gift unto the men of God…they “gave…unto us by the will of God.”

Today, this kind of giving might be called “irresponsible, irrational, or illogical.” Their giving reminds me of when Yahshua was sitting watching the people give. And there was a widow which cast 2 mites into the offering. And what did He say? “This poor widow has cast in more than all they which have cast into the treasury: for all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.” (MK 12:43-44)

How often we cry out to God to do in us what He did in the early church… Are we truly willing to go through what they went through? Are we willing to give sacrificially as they gave? Are we willing to give all like the widow?

When we can honestly answer these questions “yes” then, and only then, will our results be the same.

The church in Philippi not only gave once…they sought opportunity to give again and did so. The church in Corinth was being spurred on by their giving to give again in order to complete the work that was started. So today, we are here to challenge you to give, and give again! For then, as the Apostle Paul told this same group from Macedonia, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:18

Some basic facts...

"The percentage of adults who tithe has stayed constant since the turn of the decade, falling in the 5% to 7% range. The Barna tracking reported that the proportion of adults who tithed was 7% in 2006 and 2005; 5% in 2004 and 2003; 6% in 2002; and 5% in 2001."

Am I being unjustly harsh on the Church in America? Or, like those who gave in Mark 12, do we justify our small percentages by our large baskets? It is hard to hear that our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in abject poverty are giving in a greater measure, I know… We love this nation and pray for her and our leaders.

One short testimony before I close. While in India we ministered in literally hundreds of villages with more than 15 ministries. We were not there to receive…we were there to give.

One Ministry, Brother G. Joseph and his wife Valentina brought us to their home. They shared a meal with us and their heart for the Rajahmundry region. We went to a village and ministered to orphans and widows.

When the service was over they showered us with the opportunity to serve a meal with the members. They gave us gifts…and then they floored us. Brother Joseph handed me a small change purse. Inside was 31 rupees.

My heart was melted and broken by their generosity. We had already prayed about the seed we were to sow into their ministry…they gave out of their necessity. When we told Brother Joseph that we were there to give…he reminded me that the people in this ministry understand and it is their joy to be able to give.

We had met our “Macedonian Congregation.” We are still in contact with them weekly. And they are asking, like so many others, when are you coming back to India?

We have a simple vision. And we have more than 1000 pastors in place praying with their congregations for our soon return. They are hungry for leadership. They are crying out to God for the opportunity for us to come and impart in them the tools they will need to be effective in reaching India with the Gospel.

Are you willing to step out in faith and become like the Macedonians?

...Then send us...The Nations are Waiting!

Real Discipleship...as a way of life...

For openers...thank you brother Albert for sending morning prayers and daily notes of insight and encouragement. This is a type of media discipleship that is blooming. I am not fond of the lack of personal interaction. Still you have a disciple here.

How do you know? Your morning prayer email has changed the way we open our Blog talk Radio prayers. We have made the decision that you are 100% right in giving such praise and thanksgiving to Abba. We were encouraged and made the necessary changes.

All of this is the result of doing alot of deep searching during these past 3 months. And I have been asking the questions that we normally ask only in private; openly.

What does Real Discipleship look like in the 21st century? And I have had the privilege of hearing from those, who for a better lack of words...ROCK!
A new friend has been facing this question for the past several years. I thought that 2 years was alot...try 10! He is getting ready to walk it out. How? Faith.
And then Abba brought farming to mind. Every day on a farm there is plenty to do. Thank God for farmers the next time you sit at the table... How many of us actually own a field, prepares the land, plow, disc, fertilize, turn it over...again, then plant, water, tend, and then...prepare for the harvest in order to harvest? Seriously? This is alot of work.
With that said, there are 2 times each season when farmers are busier than others; seed-time and harvest.

This is not going to be a "prosperity" message. However; if we take this challenge to heart then we will surely be prosperous. The treasures laid up in heaven will be for His Glory!

Now, where were we? Oh yes...farming; specifically seed-time and harvest. No, this is not going to be a "prosperity" message. However; if we take this challenge to heart then we will surely be prosperous.

When Messiah walked the earth it was planting season. All of the preparations were complete and the “fullness of time” had come. Messiah was “planted” in the earth and when He rose first-fruits were with Him.

The barley season comes early in Israel. This is pictured in the Feasts of YHVH. First Fruits are celebrated on the morning AFTER the weekly Sabbath. Then the 49 days of counting the Omer, a picture of our daily portion of the Bread of Life, closes with the celebration of Shavu’ot or Pentecost.

Shavu’ot is one of the 3 mandatory feasts, shelosh regilim, where every male over 20 was commanded to gather together at Jerusalem. [Incidentally, First-Fruits occur during the 1st feast called Unleavened Bread and Tabernacles is the 3rd feast.] But this is for another day.

Let’s continue…farming. When Messiah died and rose again, he ascended twice into heaven. The 1st On First Fruits was to establish the harvest which was to come. He ascended the 2nd time 7 days before Shavu’ot/Pentecost. We are all familiar with what happened when Pentecost was fully come in Acts 2, right? If not this is your homework; find out.

The early believer’s had a sense of urgency about them. They were those who “turned the world upside-down. They were meeting daily and had daily fellowship. The shared their meals with gladness. No one had unmet needs. And they were breaking bread (communion) daily. Because of their fervor; Abba added to their number DAILY such as should be saved.

Biblical historians almost all agree, something happened during the 1st 100-150 years in the believer’s which caused them to shift or change. Exactly what that change was is not documented. Observation tells us that the tares were planted into the field by the enemy.

The wheat harvest has continued to grow in the field while the laborers have been, well, almost absent. Sure, we send missionaries to “Christianized” nations. This means we have not made disciples. We have made converts. A steady supply of missionary-pastors has been needed to maintain the converts while the number of unreached and unengaged has steadily increased.

Today, there is another “sense of urgency” stirring in the body of Messiah. More organizations are focused on reaching the unreached and unengaged than ever before. Still there are more than 2.5 Billion unreached.

The responsibility to reach the lost does not rest on the Gospel. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. The responsibility rests upon us…today’s believer. We have the command to “make disciples of all nations (literally people group).”

What has happened? We have become comfortable in our “study-groups” or “home-groups.” We have become acclimatized; and it is time that we become uncomfortable. There is nothing wrong with our “groups” as long as the aim of the group is not simply gaining more biblical knowledge.

At some point we must realize that there is so much more than the newest gadget, the latest CD, or a new “method” to evangelize the already evangelized population where we live. Most “churches” thrive on transplanted, discontent sheep from another pasture.

We have seminars, self-help media, “revivals,” and “crusades” that make us feel better about ourselves. How do we ignite the fire that will transform nations again? What has been missing? Laborers. Laborers who are willing to do whatever it takes in order to reach the unreached. Laborers that understand we need to stop “re-supplying” Christianized groups and re-direct our efforts and finances where we can impact our world.

How will this happen? Real Discipleship is what is needed. The crop is dying in the field at a greater rate that we are harvesting. In the time that it takes the average reader to read this brief article, more than 100 souls will have slipped off into eternity; most without ever hearing the Gospel.

Now, what does all of this have to do with farming? Look upon the fields. They are ripe for harvest! And it is time to push away from our easy chairs, put on our work clothes, roll up our sleeves and get busy.

Real Discipleship Training does not belong in the university; it belongs in the home. It belongs in the market-place. It belongs in the field. The best way to teach someone how to harvest tomatoes is to show them.

This is why our Messiah told us to “teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…” (Mt 28:20) Are you ready? Then let’s get busy. The time for “preparation” is over; now it is time for us to do what we have been commanded to do all along…Make disciples that make disciples.

Mat 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

We have underlined and placed in italics verse 16 on purpose for this teaching for it will be the theme verse for us today.

What does it me to “let”? Does this imply that the shining is up to us? In a sense, yes it does! If our lights are hidden then who are we bringing glory to? Satan.

I believe that as we mature and live the life of a disciple that there will come a point where it is as if our light is just “on” and all see and know that we are followers of Messiah. Until this happens, “let” us make sure that we are daily turning “on” the Light that is in us.

Also, the word “light” can also be translated as “to shine”, or “make manifest” also “fire, (and) light.” In the darkness we have no problem seeing a fire burning in the distance. We can easily see a light that shines i.e. with rays.

One translation tells us “So let radiate the light of your’s before men…” radiated light cannot be concealed. The definition of “radiate” is to “Emit (energy, esp. light or heat) in the form of rays or waves… (of light, heat, or other energy). Be emitted in such a way.”[1]

There is the audience, “before men” those within our scope of influence and line of sight. This reminds me of a saying, “Share the Gospel with everyone you meet; if necessary use words.” We are living epistles, living books which should read from cover to cover the love and life of our Messiah.

And there is the “how” in which our lights are to shine or radiate; through our good works. We are told, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all (men), especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”-Gal 6:10 Moreover, in Eph 2:10 that, “we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Here is the reason, the “why” we are to shine. When we radiate, it is the fire of Yah that is inside of us shining for the “kingdom of God is within” us (Lk 17:21), and we cause others to glorify our Father! Our purpose is to cause others to bring glory unto our Father.

This is where so many today miss the mark. They want to be “Center-Stage.” They want to declare, “Look at what I have or we have done for you God!” They want to see their “market-share” increase. They are more concerned with vain-glory than eternal glory for the Father. Pride…it still comes before destruction.

What about today? Is this passage still for us today? Let’s look at “light” from a different perspective and then we can decide. Let’s look at the “church” in general today.

I believe we all prefer to live in our comfort zone. It is comfortable sitting around a coffee shop or in our living rooms sharing with believers about Messiah. Do not misunderstand me this fellowship is necessary for growth. However, it is not our dwelling place.

Too often we prefer this “comfortable place” around the Father's table instead of going to work in His field. Praise Yah, there are those who have heard the cries of the lost; those who are without Hope. These cries are what drive them to push away from the table. And it compels them to exchange robes of comfort for the garments of labor.

This keeps you up late at night toiling in prayer while others are fast asleep. This is what will wake you early in the morning. And this burden carries you throughout your day.

How do I know this? We have been given the burden to reach the unreached peoples of India. At times it seems almost too great to bear. And, at times, we can become overwhelmed when our focus is upon the task before us.

Then we must remember to place our focus upon the One Who told us to cast all of our cares upon Him. In exchange, we become yoked together with Him. For His yoke is easy and His burden light. Still, this is our cross to bear.

We are called to carry the Light into the darkness. We tread into places where others fear to walk. Where great darkness resides is the opportunity for the Light to shine greater still!

We do not measure darkness…instead we measure Light; or its absence. The darkest corners of our world are dark because the Light has not shinned upon them. We are called the “light of the world.” The “Light of the World” has one purpose, to dispel the darkness.

In a brightly lit room when we turn on “another light” its effects are barely noticeable. In a room that has no light; even the smallest flame can give revelation. When two or three flames come together then all can see clearly and be warmed by their fire.

Have you ever gone camping? Did you notice that after a while of living with minimal light how your eyes became adjusted to the weakness of the light? In some areas the light is dim and needs encouraged “to grow”.

At times while camping, the fires burn out and there is almost no light. Even there, after a while, you can begin to “see” your way around the campsite. When you turn on your flashlight you can see much more clearly. His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path!

And how many of us remember sleeping in our cozy rooms all snuggled together with our blankets and pillows when someone comes into the room and turns on the light. Ouch! “Turn off that light, it’s too bright!” we cry. Try as we might to hide our eyes from the light it seems to penetrate through our blankets so we cover our heads with our pillow to no avail.

This is how it is when we carry the Light into the dark regions without the Gospel. The Light has one purpose…to dispel the darkness. This is the purpose for which Messiah came, that He might destroy the works, the darkness, of the devil.

When we carry the Light to those who have never heard we become partners, or one, with the Light! This is why demons flee when we enter into their familiar places.

When the light comes in, we are told, “Men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”(Jn 3:19) The light has one purpose when it meets sinful men; to reprove their evil deeds. (Jn 3:20) This is why those who do evil hate the light. But we are not here to provide them with comfort and ease as they walk blindly into hell.

No we are to be bright shining; burning lights so that they can see there is a better Way. And that Way is Messiah Yahshua! He is the Wt to the Father; without Him no one can come unto the Abba. Please, stop trying to hide the Light that is in you!

Will you send us to carry the Light to those who are still living in darkness? Better still, who will go with us, shining the Light of Messiah where it has yet to be seen? Become a torch-bearer of the Gospel and “let your Light so shine before men that they might see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven!”

The Call to be a Disciple of Messiah Yahshua…

In our first segment on Real Discipleship we covered the Authority of Our Call. We uncovered a myth in Christianity concerning the alleged authority that the enemy possesses today. For either, “all authority” means “all” or Messiah has sent us on false pretense.

And we further unveiled that the term “authority” has in it’s meaning the legal right and jurisdiction upon which we have been commissioned to “go and make disciples of all nations or “ethnos” or “non-Jewish people groups” according to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance G1484. Told to the Jewish followers of Messiah to fulfill their role in the nations.

However; that teaching is for another day…

As we move into the call to discipleship, we will look into the lives of the 1st disciples and we will apply this to our lives today. In Micah 4:5 we read, “For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of Yahweh our Elohim (the LORD our God) for ever and ever.” Literally “l’olam v’ad” meaning “continually without end.”

In the Hebraic culture this is called our “halakah” or our daily walk. It literally implies walking or going for we were not created as the trees or rocks that are stationary. No we have been given the ability and the authority to move about freely upon the earth in order. We are all going somewhere. The question is are we simply wandering aimlessly or are our steps ordered and purposed as we go?

Messiah gives us a warning concerning who we are following in Luke 6:39-40. A parallel passage to the Sermon on the Mount, yet not recorded in Matthew’s account. Messiah begins another parable and asks, “Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch? The disciple is not above his master: but everyone that is perfect shall be as his master.”

He then continues His teaching on removing what is obstructing our vision before we can remove the small splinter from our brother’s vision. As well as His teaching on good and bad trees or ways of living.

There are many men in history that have rallied people around themselves. Many who have led the masses into lives of blind discipleship. Many today still do the same. And all who follow them will find themselves in the ditch or pit together. Our call is to open the eyes of the blind! (Isaiah 42:7)

And we have been given warning upon warning about the false prophets who will be “on the scene” and we are not to follow them. (Deut 13:1-4, Jer 23:14-16) Even Messiah in Matthew 24 3 times warns of us not being deceived; verses 4-5, 11, and 24. This is paralleled in Mark 13:21-23.

The writers of the Brit Chadashah or New Testament continue to warn us to beware of who it is that we are following! Read Rom 16:17-18; Eph 5:6-11; Col 2:8-9 & 18-19; Heb 13:9; 2 Pet 2:1-3; and 1 Jn 4:1-4. These warnings should cause us to ask several questions.

Who are we following? Why are we following them? Where are they leading us? We must know the answer to these questions or we are like those who begin to build without first considering the costs. (Luke 14:28)

The same is true of our key characters in this teaching.

Andrew and another disciple of John the Baptist, perhaps John the beloved, were present as Messiah was declared to be the Lamb of God. (Jn 1:35-42) They knew who they were following, John the Baptist, the voice of one crying in the wilderness. And his testimony of Messiah was what compelled these 2 disciples to follow Yahshua.

But He had not called them yet. This is why He asked them, “what seek ye?” in verse 38. There answer was not to become your followers. No. They simply answered, “Where dwellest thou?” They only wanted to know where He lived. His reply was, “Come and see.”

It was about 4 PM and they “abode with Him that day.” They did not begin following Him. They were not called to follow Him at that time. But during this time they were able to begin to learn about Him.

In fact, Andrew, we are told went and found his brother Simon Peter and told him that they had found the long awaited Messiah! Surely they were going to drop everything and follow Him right then and there!

It is here that Messiah changes Simon’s name to “Cephas” or a stone. Still, they were mere “lookers” and not called to be Messiah’s Talmidim or disciples. Let’s take a look at Mark 1:14-20.

John the Baptist is placed into prison. Messiah begins to preach, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of Elohim (God) is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” In verse 16 Messiah is walking by the sea of Galilee and there He calls Simon and Andrew then He calls James and John (the beloved).

Their call is also recorded in Mt 4:18-22. And it is in Matthew’s gospel that their call is made clear, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Many people followed Messiah throughout His journeys as He walked upon the earth. Even as Messiah declared in Mt 20:16 and 22:!4, “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

There is a call for all men everywhere to repent. There is a call to repentance from dead works to serving the 1 True Living God! There was a time when Abba winked at man’s ignorance; but now He commands all men everywhere to repent. Yet there are few that are chosen.

Chosen to life everlasting. Chosen to fulfill His purposes in this generation. Called from their mother’s womb and chosen or set apart for the work of the kingdom of God. Called out of darkness as a chosen vessel for His glory and honor.

Have you heard about this Messiah from another even as Andrew did from John the Baptist? Have you looked with curiosity upon the One Who is called Messiah? Have you, like Andrew and Simon simply returned to “life as you know it” without answering the call unto salvation?

The convicting power of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Ghost) right now is again calling you to repent and believe the Gospel! (Mk 1:15) He is calling you to repent and be converted that your sins may be blotted out! Come unto Him and rest in the finished work of Messiah.

Even Messiah tells us in John 10:1-5 and 26-27 that His sheep hear His voice, and they follow Him. Has He called you? Are you following Him or another man? His ways or man’s tradition or religion? If He has called you, He tells us that those He calls follow Him.

The call to salvation brings about a radical, miraculous change in our lives. It is not gradual as many are teaching today. The Bible says, “If any man be in Christ he is a new creature or creation, old things are (not will be) passed away; behold or look and take notice, ALL things are become new. Literally all new things have come into being.

We will continue to look at Real Discipleship in the coming days and weeks. As we do, it is my prayer that we will all "walk even and He walked" knowing that we have been given such a high calling from the King of kings! This will lead us to the point of decision and commitment...so prepare your hearts and life for the harvest is truly plentiful and the laborers are few!

In Simple Obedience…We Go!
Evangelist Larry Walters
Apostle to the Peoples of India

This is the result of many seeking to do what was done in the early church on a daily basis. We will explore several fundamental issues; then we will tackle the core question, "What should Real Discipleship look like today?"

First we must begin with the call to "go and make disciples of all nations (i.e. ethnic groups or people groups) as commanded by Yahshua in Matthew 28:18-20 ESV

"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.' ”

In verse 18, Messiah Yahshua begins our command to "go and make disciples" with the declaration of His authority. According to Strong's the word translated "authority" comes from the Greek word "exousia;"(G1849) and this is derived from G1832 which is defined as the right and public lawfulness of His authority.

"Exousia" is also translated as "jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, and strength" in the KJV Bible.

(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

Messiah Yahshua's Authority has it's source Yahweh. In John's gospel over and again Yahshua declares, that the words He has spoken are from Abba Father. (John 8:23-59, 12:44-50, 14:9-11, and 17:1-8) He took all of the authority from our enemy according to Colossians 2:8-15. Verse 15 tells us that He spoiled or stripped of their authority. He removed their garment of strength and exposed them powerless and naked publicly as He triumphed over them. (see also 1 Cor 15:22-28)

When He declares that all authority or jurisdiction has been given unto Him, Satan can no longer be the god of this world. He can no longer be the prince and power of the air. All of his authority has been given taken away from him and now Messiah Yahshua is the legal authority in the land! Because of His authority He alone can grant liberty (John 8:31-36).

And it is upon this authority that He has commissioned us to "go and make disciples of all nations." Who is the source of our authority? Is it not the very One Who has sent us? And He alone has all legal jurisdiction and the right to send us to the nations; even when earthly powers attempt to usurp His authority we must press on! (Acts 5:25-32)

We will continue to look at Real Discipleship in the coming days and weeks. As we do, it is my prayer that we will all "walk even and He walked" knowing that we have been given such a high calling from the King of kings!
Fuel for your prayer Part II…Looking back…Looking ahead!

Warm greetings to you all in the name of our Messiah Yahshua, Jesus the Christ! As I recollect our journeys in India I am reminded of how Abba had His hand upon us every step of the way. How you ask? Here is just one example of hundreds!

Warm greetings to you all in the name of our Messiah Yahshua, Jesus the Christ! As I recollect our journeys in India I am reminded of how Abba had His hand upon us every step of the way. How you ask? Here is just one example of hundreds!

My love, Ana, and I applied for our passports on the same day. We knew we were headed to India and we knew that we would be headed out in September. However, when we arrived at my parents in TX my passport was not completed. I had to “prove” that I was actually Larry Walters.

Upon returning home I resubmitted my passport and the passport offices and I concurred…I am…me! (It’s OK…go ahead and laugh, we did.) Because of this delay we were not able to go to the consulate offices in Houston to apply for our visas.

After my passport arrived, we applied for our visas online. We wanted to apply for our missionary visas; however, it would have costs $140 more and India only approves them for 90 days…

We applied for our tourist visas instead, saving us $140 total and we were needed in India for 5 months!

Had we returned in November, we would have missed Abba’s timing, and more importantly, His purpose for our trip would have been unfulfilled.

So many souls would not have met Jesus…the well we sponsored would not have been built which is providing water for 15 villages even today! The 61 children at Kotipalli Children’s Home would not have received the blankets they so desperately needed; especially since India suffered with an exceptionally cold winter this year. We would not have met “our boys” in Coimbatore, Tami Nadu. This list could continue for pages!!!

I have written this to ask you to pray that Michael and I will follow Yahweh and His timing even in our upcoming trip. 3 months apart from our families is a small sacrifice compared to the foundation that will be laid to establish India as one of the strongest missionary nations over the next few years. Who could ever place a value upon the millions that will be directly impacted by the Gospel due to the challenge we will bring to more than 1200 pastors and evangelists?

Please pray for our families, the people we will meet, and the necessary funds for our trip to be released. Thank you for your prayers, and your financial support. We are in the final 7 weeks of preparation and need to raise almost $22,000. There is no donation too small or too great. Why not pray, and invite others in your circles of influence to partner together with you to raise $1,000, $5,000 or more!?!

Oh how the memories of yesterday become the fuel for tomorrows journey! Stay tuned…for more memories as looking back helps us to look ahead while providing fresh fuel for our prayers!

As we approach our trip to India I sat down with Michael and watched videos we had taken while in India. The more we watched the more I wanted to watch…and that is what we did! We watched videos for almost 2 hours!

My heart was like putty, OK; the tears were flowing as I revisited memories from India. I would like to take you on a short journey or two in the next few weeks. It will be a journey into the past that will become fuel for our journey tomorrow!

Our First…

As we approach our trip to India I sat down with Michael and watched videos we had taken while in India. The more we watched the more I wanted to watch…and that is what we did! We watched videos for almost 2 hours!

My heart was like putty, OK; the tears were flowing as I revisited memories from India. I would like to take you on a short journey or two in the next few weeks. It will be a journey into the past that will become fuel for our journey tomorrow!

Our First Steps lead to uncharted territories…

After we arrived in Guntur India I went for a walk with one of our hosts Joshie. We happened upon Andhra Pradesh Christian College, where he attended classes in the past. (In India College classes are equivalent to 11th and 12th grade studies and Universities are institutions of higher education.)

When we entered, Joshie was excited for me to meet some of the teachers and the Dean of Theology, Dr. Paul.

Did you notice the name? Me too! It is common in India for Christian parents to give their children the names of mighty men or women of God. And new believers ask for a “new” name, one that they will live by the rest of their lives. And their new name will become apart of their new identity in Christ!

As we shared our reason for being in India we discovered that the college, once founded to educate the children of missionaries in India, now accepted Hindu’s and Muslims as students. In fact, the majority of the students that enroll are not born again.

We were invited to come and share the Gospel during Chapel Service and several students gave their lives to Jesus! HalleluYah! By the way, this was also our first presentation of the Gospel in India!

We had not even considered that we would be able to minister in a school! And yet, because of you we were able to share the Good News in 5 other schools. Yes, Jesus taught us to “cast our nets on the other side of the boat” and it opened our eyes see the great potential for souls in every area of society.

Oh how the memories of yesterday become the fuel for tomorrows journey!
