A New Mantle

2 Kings 2:8,9,13,14 - Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground. And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you? Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."........He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the…

Mary And Martha

Luke 10:38-42 - "As Jesus and his disciples went on their way, he came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed Him in her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat down at the feet of the Lord and listened to His teaching. Martha was upset over all the work she had to do; so she came and said, 'Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!'

The Lord answered her, 'Martha, Martha! You…

I Am Predestined

Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are God's own workmanship, recreated in Christ Jesus, that we may do those good works which God predestined for us, that we should walk in them."

2 Corinthinas 3:18 - "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the…

Measure Of Faith

Romans 12:3........God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

As children of God, we should never say, "I don't have any faith." To say this is to say that God is a lair because His Word already tells us that "God has dealt to each one a measure of faith."

Why does faith of some seem to be stronger than others?

Faith is like a body muscle -- the more we…

Washing With Water By The Word

John 13:8 -- Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet!" Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me."

Peter could not imagine Jesus wanting to wash his feet -- his shocked reaction being "Lord, how can You wash my feet!"

Jesus says to him: "Peter, if I don't wash your feet, you have no part with Me." What the Lord was actually saying to Peter was,…

Numbed Out

Leviticus 10:8-10 8The LORD then spoke to Aaron, saying, 9"Do not drink wine or strong drink, neither you nor your sons with you, when you come into the tent of meeting, so that you will not die—it is a perpetual statute throughout your generations— 10and so as to make a distinction between the holy and the profane, and between the unclean and the clean,…

Praying At The Midnight Watch

Psalm 119:62 - "At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, because of Your righteous judgments."

Midnight usually meant halfway between dark and the breaking of the light or the midle-point of the night before the light could break through.

The midnight hour was the time that the…

Naturally Holy

John 5:14 - "Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."

In saying this, Jesus shows that sin causes the tragedies that come into our lives. The reason for holiness in the life of the believer is that when we give in to sin, we yield ourselves to Satan, the author of that sin. Yielding to sin is yielding to…
