Humility – from Latin ‘humus’ means earth or on the ground. A person who has condescended from a position of pride to lay prostate on the ground in a place of submission to almighty God.
1 Peter 5:5-6 Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.
Humility implies a brokenness. What is the manifestation of brokenness? The manifestation of brokenness is hungering and thirsting after God’s word. Broken from what? The desire to run my life on my own will.
