The scriptures show us that God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth. When the Spirit comes, Jesus said, He will teach you all things of mine, He will be with you and in you. This is a pretty close, intimate relationship. If the Holy Spirit is going to teach us, is it only a one way discourse? He speaks into us, but we do not respond to Him?
If prayer is worship, then as God is Spirit, so we pray to the Spirit, who is God.
One of the most convincing Trinitarian scriptures, John 15:26 "When the Comforter comes,whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who goes out from the Father, He will testify about Me," shows the absolute indisolvability of the persons of the Godhead. They are so deeply intimate, yet distinct. Such is it that to call on the Father is to engage the Son, who reveals Himself in the Holy Spirit.
When John saw the vision of Christ in Revelation , we read that he fell at His feet as though dead. (Rev. 1:17) It doesn't say face down or otherwise. When the rabble came to take Jesus by force in the Garden , at His words "I am " they fell to the ground (John 18:6). Again, no help with face down or not. In today's services people fall down under ther power of the Holy Spirit.
The apostle Paul exhorts the church at Corinth in 2 Corinthians 13:14;
"The grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion and sharing together and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all." AMP
