Spiritual Poisoning

Jesus said in:

Luke 4:18 King James Version (KJV)

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Jesus has the Cure to Spiritual Poisoning! But what is Spiritual Poisoning? How do we get Spiritually Poisoned?

Spiritual Poisoning comes from our enemy (The Devil/Satan and his demon angels).

Ephesians 6:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

1 Peter 5:8 King James Version (KJV)

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Satan will do anything, use anything he can to destroy and stop us.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15King James Version (KJV)

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

John8:44 says The Devil is a Liar.

John 10:10 King James Version (KJV)

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Satan has several tricks that he uses; the most common are listed below.

Deception & Diversion: Satan will always lie to us, even quoting scriptures (but he does this, he has twisted the meaning of the scriptures, so we will believe his lie).

In Matthew Chapter 4:1-10 this it the story of the Temptation of Christ in the Wilderness. Satan used scripture to try and tempt the Lord, but Jesus used Scripture (the Word of God) to defeat Satan.

Satan will paint us a pretty picture that looks good, but is meant to destroy us.

Proverbs 14:12            &         Proverbs 16:25 King James Version (KJV)

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Doubt and unbelief: Makes you question God's word and his goodness.

Satan’s whole purpose in this is to cause division (to drive a wedge) between a person and God,

Numbers 23:19 King James Version (KJV)

19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Hebrews 11:1 King James Version (KJV)

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6 King James Version (KJV)

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 6:17-18 King James Version (KJV)

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Discouragement and Defeat: Makes you look at your problems rather than God.

Satan loves to make us feel bad about ourselves and God.

“Look you messed up again, why don’t you quit and go home, or kill yourself, it’s worth it anyway”. “If God really existed or loved you, He would help you.” “People are staring at you, what do they think about you?” “You do not have what it takes to do what you are trying to do”. “No body cares if you succeed in what you are doing or not”. “No one wants to hear you”. “No one wants your help”. “What can you do”? “(You’re not old enough, your too old, your too big, your too small). “

I cannot explain everything, but God can! He has a plan for your life and mine, before we was born. He will give you everything you need to do what ever He wants you to do.

Jeremiah 1:1-10           Isaiah 55:8-11             Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

2 Corinthians 4:5-12   Ezekiel 3:17-21 & Ezekiel 33:1-9       Philippians 4:6-8

Romans 8:28-39

Delay: There is an old saying, “Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can get done today!” Satan like for us to wait. He wants to get into trouble or miss out on as many Blessings as possible.

John 9:4 King James Version (KJV)

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Proverbs 27:1 King James Version (KJV)

27 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

We do not have a promise of tomorrow (or the next second, breath or heart beat) on this Earth.  So do what you can now.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 King James Version (KJV)

19 Quench not the Spirit.

Romans 11:29 King James Version (KJV)

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Do what ever God wants you to do, or you may lose that gift or calling.

Matthew 25:14-30

Common poisons to Christians.

Sometimes Satan causes our spirit to become hard, stubborn, narrow, selfish, wild, and disobedient, unforgiving, pride, vengeance, distracted and more.

Getting rid of the Spiritual poisons in our lives.

  1. Become who you are supposed to be. Do not be a Hypocrite! You are a Christian, walk like it, think like one, talk like one, and act like one. Hebrews 9:27, Philippians 2:5, 1 Corinthians 2:9-16, Matthew 12:35-37, Matthew 10:26, Luke 12:2, & Revelation 20:13.
  2. Quit comparing yourself to others and what they have. -  You are you, and God made you the way you are for His Glory and Honor. What you have God wants/wanted you to have. Be good Steward (care taker) of that which God has given to you. If God wants you to have more, He will give it to you when you are ready for it, not before.
  3. Control your tongue. – One of the hardest things in the world to do. Temper, jealousy, spite, etc. – Ouch, all of which can get you to say things that you should not say. Fill your heart with the things of God and not the things of the world. (the Word of God- reading and studying it daily, the songs of Zion, etc.). Surround yourself with other Christian believers as much as possible. Positive influences will reduce the chances of your tongue going out of control and saying things that you will later regret. Psalms 119:11, Matthew 15:11, & 18-20
  4. Do the things the Devil tells you not to do and/or does not want you to do. - James 4:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, 2 Timothy 2:15, 1 Peter 3:15, Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:28, Matthew 25:31-46, & Luke 14:23. There are soooooo, many more things the Bible says we can do, and should do that the Devil does not like and certainly does not wants to do. The more we do for God, the resistant we become to the Devils devices. James 4:7
  5. Completely surrender your life to God. James 4:7, Hebrews 12:1-2, keep your eyes on the Lord, and do not look to the right or the left or to that which is behind you. Philippians 3:14, Matthew 14:26-32, & Luke 9:62

I hope and Pray that in this document that something has been said that will help you live a better, stronger, spiritually healthier life for the Lord. There is sooo much more that could have been said and brought out, I Pray you will dig much deeper into this subject.
