Albert Finch Ministry - Daily Devotional - July 25, 2019

Hebrews 4:12 - “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

The Word of God is alive and full of life! Therefore, it administers life wherever it is applied. It doesn’t matter how dark and deadly your circumstances may be. The Word of God has the supernatural life within it to fulfill the promises of God in your life.

If you have a need in your life today, go to the Word of God. Find a promise to stand on regarding your need…begin planting that seed in your heart. Say it aloud over and over as you let that Word take root inside of you. Let that Word become real to you as you continually meditate on it. And then watch it come alive!

Isaiah 43:25,26 - “I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins.  Put Me in remembrance, let us argue our case together; State your cause, that you may be proved right.”

As long as you allow the devil to keep reminding you of past sins and failures, he will take advantage of you.  Constantly dwelling on the past will keep your faith inoperative. And as long as you have no confidence in your own faith, your prayers will be hindered.

Why does God say that He won’t remember our sins for His own sake?  So that He can bless us!  He blots out our sins for His own sake so He can help us and demonstrate His great mercy and love on our behalf.

2 Corinthians 1:8,9 - “For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;”

Paul didn’t break, and he didn’t die!  Likewise, if you hold on and fight right where you are, you also won’t break or be destroyed!  God’s delivering power is yours!  He has rescued you in the past; He will rescue you now, and He will rescue you again and again in the future.

All He asks is that you “stay put” right where He called you – refusing to move, rejecting every temptation to give up, and deciding to never give in to the pressure that the devil wants to pile on top of you.

If you’ll be faithful and wage war with the power and armor of God, you’ll discover that God will be with you all the way through to a successful conclusion.

Acts 20:24 - “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus.”

Whatever your revealed purpose in Christ, you will be energized by opening your mind to ideas, and closing the narrow mental corridors of convention and sameness. Life in the Spirit has much to offer, and pursuing your destiny can be exciting and thrilling. But it also requires your entire being.

Destiny chasers engage every fiber of their being in following the path God has set before them. They are not bored or lazy or negative – they remind themselves why they are on this journey.

When you want to be your best and do your best for God, you keep moving past the humps. You find the energy to re-engage in your purpose, and you remember that your calling is greater than you.

Ephesians 3:19 - “Be filled with all the fullness of God."

We want our whole being to be so full of the life of Jesus that the Holy Spirit can speak and act through us. We want the Word in our heart and the faith it produces. We want to live always in Him.

We cry out for the inspiration of the God of power. We want to act in the Holy Spirit. We want to breathe out divine life. We want the glory, miracles, and wonders that work out the purpose of God for our life.

We want to be absorbed by God, and we want to know nothing among men except Jesus and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2).

John 15:4 - “Live in me, and I will live in you. A branch cannot produce any fruit by itself. It has to stay attached to the vine. In the same way, you cannot produce fruit unless you live in me.”

God created you to exalt and bring glory to His name. When you bear fruit, God is glorified. His name is exalted whenever you use the abilities He stored in you. From His storehouse of riches, God will supply all you can imagine, and more because He wants you to fulfill His purpose for your life.

So long as you live in the vine and submitted to the discipline of the Gardner, you will know God’s blessings and will bear abundant fruit that remains.

Your calling in Christ requires a relationship with its Source. God works hard to keep us hooked up with Him. He wants His glory to fill the earth through us.

Matthew 8:19 - “Then a teacher of the law came to Him and said, ‘Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.’”

Only a disciple experiences full potential. He seeks new revelations and understandings concerning Jesus’ life and who He calls His disciples to be.  Don’t fall for the limitations of the world – the lies and deceptions of the lower nature.

Get connected to God’s purpose for your life. Then stay connected.  God has chosen you to go and bear fruit – fruit that remains. Live in Christ and the Father will give you whatever you wish.

Refuse to live below your privileged sonship. Reach for the high calling of Christ for your life. Drink deep from the vine and let your life feed others.

John 15:1 - “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”  Jesus says, “I am the True Vine.”

By this statement He implies that there are vines or sources that are not genuine. The potential of the branches and the vine needs the attention of the Gardener. Cutting off the old leaves that stop the vine from producing its full potential, the Gardner starts to clean up the vine.

Are there some old leaves in your life that have been hanging around for five, ten or fifteen years? Do you need to quit a habit or two so your life more truly reflects your oneness with Christ? How many hours in a day are you losing to disobedience and rebellion?

Prune your life through discipline and obedience to God, who desires His purpose for your life to be maximized.

Isaiah 60:1 - “Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”

The people of the world don’t have spiritual discernment.  they can only go by your physical appearance, behavior, and what happens to you.  In other words, if they notice something different about you, it is because they see the evidence of God’s glory on your life – in your family and work life, health and finances.

When God’s glory rises upon you, your words carry weight, even if you are not eloquent. Mabe it is your hands. When you lay hands on the sick, they recover. Mabe it is your ability to give counsel that is spot-on, or your ability to speak into their future with a word of knowledge or word of wisdom from God.

When you see this happening, it is because the people of the world are drawn to the glory of the Lord that has risen upon you!

Psalm 112:6-8 - “Surely he shall not be moved forever; the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.  His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies."

In any battle we face in life, first of all,  we must settle in our own hearts that the victory is ours and the battle is the Lord’s – we must rule out all possibilities of defeat.

The only way we can get our heart firmly established is to affirm and meditate on God’s promises in scripture, seeing them with the eyes of our heart, dwelling on what He has said instead of what everyone around us is saying

Ephesians 4:22-24 - “Strip yourselves of your former nature…And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind…put on the new nature…created in…true holiness."

Righteousness and holiness are two different things. Righteousness is the right standing with God you gained when you were born again. The only thing you did to be made righteous was to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life.

You are not made holy. Holiness is the result of your choices. It’s your conduct. It comes when you make a decision of your will to live according to the precepts of the Lord. To be holy is to be sanctified (2 timothy 2:21). Sanctified means "set apart.” Set apart from what? From the World.

Affirmations:

I make up my mind not to sideline my spiritual growth in Christ by doing petty things that please myself.  I dedicate myself wholly to the Father and choose to live holy. I choose to live a life of power!  I choose to live for God!

Mark 16:17 - “And these signs shall follow them that believe;…"

Because of the tense used with the Greek word for "believe”, this verse would be better translated “These signs shall follow them that are constantly believing…”  In other words, these signs don’t come automatically just because a person once walked aside and gave his heart to Jesus. These signs follow those who are constantly believing for them to occur.

Like everything else in the Kingdom of God, signs and wonders are activated by faith. Ask the Holy Spirit to rekindle the flame in your heart to see the supernatural signature of God on your life or your ministry. For the miraculous to occur, He needs you to be constantly releasing your faith – for it is your faith that activates the supernatural!

Isaiah 10:27 - “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

Jesus is the Christ. The Greek word for Christ means “the Anointed One”.  And since Isaiah 10:27 tells us the yoke of the devil is destroyed by the anointing, we don’t have to run scared when the devil comes against us. You are destined to overcome. You have that anointing – the Anointed One – residing on the inside of you if you are born again.

Stir up that anointing.  Stand up in the midst of the storm. As you speak to it with all the power and authority that’s been given to you, you’ll dominate the storm.

Isaiah 54:2 - “Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your ropes and strengthen your stakes.“

When you don’t think there is more to where you currently are in God’s purpose for your life, you become limited.  You think this right here – all I see – is it. This type of thinking keeps you from exploring and discovering. It keeps you from stretching yourself and dreaming about other possibilities.

If you want to meet God’s calling in Christ on your life, you’re going to have to believe there is more than what meets the eyes. You begin to choose to live like there is more by expecting more and praying for more wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17,18).

Kingdom destiny followers know that more is beyond, and they commit to scaling barriers or other walls put up by their minds – or by others.

Romans 8:33 - “Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect?  It is God who justifies."

The book of Job tells us that Satan came to God’s throne and complained about Job. (Job 1:6-12) God’s throne is the most holy place. So why did God allow Satan to come before Him in the most holy place? Because of Adam’s sin, He had the right to take Adam’s place and come before God.

So, what happened to Job cannot happen to us.  Job longed for a mediator, but he had none. (Job 9:33).  Today we have Jesus as our Mediator, mediating the New Covenant between God and man.  However, since the devil cannot come before God any more, he comes to you on earth and accuses you in your conscience. Satan cannot come before God to accuse you because it is God who justifies you through the terms of the New Covenant. Jesus’ holy blood has given you perfect standing in the presence of God!

Joshua 1:9 - “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Those Believers who are pursuing their calling in Christ have to be risk takers – getting into deep water is scary because there’s a possibility that you could drown.  Getting into the water is scary because it’s cold. But getting in is the only way you will learn to swim. You can’t learn hanging on the edge.

Getting to the next level of God’s purpose for your life works the same way; you will have to step out of what feels secure. Our destiny is waiting on the other side. We can’t let fear keep us from moving forward doing what we have been created to do.

Matthew 24:45 - "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household?"

Who is faithful? The one who spends his time doing what God has called him to do.  Or as Jesus put it, the one who takes up his cross and follows Him. The one who denies his fleshly desires and spends his life on the things God desires him to do.

God may be calling you to pray for the sick or to disciple a new Christian.  But you're busy, so you glide on with good intentions and tell God you'll do it later.  Well later is NOW.

Decide today that you are going to be the faithful and wise servant. Serve His interests instead of your own. Do you want Him to show Himself strong for you? Then take up Jesus' thoughts today. Discover and take up His purpose for your life. Now is the time to be faithful!

Hebrews 3:1 - “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.”

Hebrews 3:1 says that Jesus is the High Priest of our confession.  He’s been sent to put into effect, to execute, to carry out the words that we say.  But have you been speaking what you feel, instead of speaking words of faith?  He can’t execute that.

He is our High Priest of deliverance from sin, sickness, poverty, and disease. Speak words He can implement – words of victory. That’s what He’s been ordained by God to bring to pass in our life.

Acts 13:52 - “And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit."

What is our attitude regarding allowing the Holy Spirit to manifest His life and power through us?

Are we thirsty? Are we longing? Are we willing to pay the price? Are we willing to forfeit in order to have? Are we willing to allow ourselves to die so that He may live? Are we willing for Him to have the right-of-way in our heart, our conscience, and all we are? Are we ready to have God’s deluge of blessing upon our soul?

Are we ready to be changed forever, to receive the Holy Spirit, to be filled with divine power forever?

2 Corinthians 5:17 - "All things have become new."  1 Corinthians 3:23 - "you are Christ's and Christ is God's."

God means for us to walk in this royal way.  Jesus left us the responsibility of allowing Him to bring forth through us the greater works (John 14:12).

If we do not step into God's purpose for our life, it is a tragedy. God is waiting for us to act.  Jesus lived a life of perfect activity.  There is no standing still. "As He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17). We must dare to press on until God comes forth in mighty power -- press on until Jesus is glorified.
