New Testament Truths
The incarnation cannot be a doctrine or a theory or a metaphysical concept.
It must be as real to you as your birth is to you.
It is an absolute fact that God has broken into the human realm and has given to the senses a testimony of His reality.
Have student recite truths five times per day and meditate on them as he goes throughout the day.
FOR HOMEWORK HAVE STUDENT WRITE OUT THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES:
I. FORETOLD BY THE PROPHETS
Genesis 3:15
15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.
Isaiah 9:6
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be calledWonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Jeremiah 23:5
5 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David[a] a righteous Branch,
Micah 5:2
2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans[a] of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
2. WITNESSED IN THE GOSPELS
John 1:14
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only-begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Luke 1:34-35
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Luke 2:10-11
10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
3. CONFIRMED BY THE APOSTLES
Hebrews 1:5-6
5 For to which of the angels did He ever say:“You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again:"I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”? ]6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:“Let all the angels of God worship Him.
GALATIANS 4:4-5
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
1 JOHN 1:2
2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—
4. RATIFIED BY CHRIST
Revelation 22:16
16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
5. Christ as God was David's Lord. Christ as man, was David's Son
Matthew 22:42-45
42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, 44 “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’? 45 If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
AFFIRMATIONS:
Have the student read out loud each of the below scriptures. When they are finished, dictate the affirmations below. Have them recite out loud the affirmations 5 times per day and meditate on them as they go throughout the day.
Since I have received the Lord Jesus Christ, I am a son of God. (John 1:12)
I have power to overcome the world since I believe that Jesu is the Son of God. (1 John 5:4)
I know that God dwells in me and He has given me eternal life, since I believe that eternal life is in Jesus. (1 John 5:11,12)
