2. Inheritance in Christ
Read Galatians Chapters 4-6
Main Themes:
A defense of the Doctrine of Justification by Faith, warnings against Reversion to Jewish ceremonial laws, and a vindication of Paul's Apostleship.
Chapter 4:
Paul's criticism of the Galatian Christians for observing "days, and months, and times, and years" is a reflection of the influence of false teachers. He calls these false teachers "dogs" and "evil workers" for undermining the true gospel. (Philippians 3:2)
Chapter 5:
Freedom in Christ is not a license to live as one pleases. We are saved to a life of love and service toward others. Believers are compelled by God's grace to follow only one law -- the royal law of love. When they lapse into legalism (making keeping the law a requirement for salvation) they lose their spiritual liberty and make Christ's sacrifice of no avail. The fruit of the Spirit in the believers life is a natural result of God's grace and love in the human heart.
Chapter 6:
Paul reminds the Galatians that Jesus and His death on the cross are the central focus of the salvation story--not whether a person should be circumcised.
Affirmations:
(Repeat and Meditate on These as You Go Throughout the Day)
Galatians 4:7 - I am a Son and heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 4:19 - Christ is formed in me.
Galatians 5:25 - I live and walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 6:15 - Since I am in Christ Jesus, I am a new creature.
3. Dunamis Life
Christ In Me
Matthew 15:32 -- And Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, "I feel compassion for the multitude, because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat."
Observation
People saw in Jesus meekness, unlimited power and perfect love. If I would win souls, people must see in me this same Jesus.
If I would draw men to Christ in heaven, they must be eyewitnesses of Christ in me. But, if I have flagrant sin or self-righteousness, my witness is non-effective.
Into Action
What am I doing in my life that is keeping Christ from being manifested in me? (Make a list)
What is my plan of action to correct this?
