2. Inheritance In Christ
Read Matthew Chapter 24

Psalm 115:8 - They who make idols are like them; so are all who trust in and lean on them.

IF OUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GOD IS NOT CHARGED WITH THE LIFE AND POWER OF GOD, MERE KNOWLEDGE BECOMES AN IDOL IN OUR MINDS. IT IS EASY FOR US TO HAVE IDEAS AND IMAGES OF GOD THAT ARE UNTRUE, WHICH THE HOLY SPIRIT WOULD REMOVE IF WE WOULD LET HIM. THE POWER OF CHRIST'S LIFE IS FILTERED AND PROPORTIONALLY DIMINISHED BY THE NUMBER OF THESE WRONG IMAGES EXISTING WITHIN US.

Matthew 24:4 - Jesus answered them, Be careful that no one misleads you (deceiving you and leading you into error).

If we are listening to something that does not center us firmly upon the path into God's kingdom, if we are not becoming like Jesus in holiness and power, we are being misled, and that misleading knowledge is an idol.

Affirmations

THE LORD WANTS ME TO BE ROOTED IN HIM, NOT ROOTED IN MY IDEA ABOUT HIM.

I MUST BE CONFIDENT ENOUGH OF HIS LOVE TO BE ABLE TO UPROOT A WRONG IDEA; AN IDOL IS AN IDOL.

3. Dunamis Life

INCREASING OUR VISION

Exodus 16:4 - The the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction.

This is the test of whether we will get up first thing every day and seek fresh "Manna" from heaven. This fresh daily word from heaven will help keep us fresh spiritually. When we stop gathering it every day, we will start to grow stale and often start to deteriorate.

But we need more that this to actually grow spiritually. Growth requires more than what is needed to just sustain us. We need the fresh manna from God, but we also need the meat of the word.

We will not grow unless we are pursuing more and more depth of understanding, and more increase in our vision.

1 Corinthians 2:10 - But we know about these things because God has sent His Spirit to tell us, and His spirit searches out and shows us all of God's deepest secrets.

INTO ACTION

What are you doing to pursue more depth of understanding?
