My Personal Essay.

Family Back ground and Childhood.

My name is Simon Peter Kaleem, I born on 3rd January 1969 in a poor Christian family in Gujranwala Pakistan. My parents were not strong financially but they were very rich in their faith on Jesus Christ. We are 5 brothers and 2 sisters and my parent raised me up with many financial challenges, it is just like with almost 90% of the Christian families in Pakistan. Right from my childhood I saw many financial difficulties, but thanks God for blessing us the God fearing parents, who always said to us, work hard, believe in God and put all your worries unto HIM.
I still remember my first day of labor, I was just 12 year of age and I did hard labor with masons to meet my educational expenses. From that day it was my routine after coming back from the school I used to go to field/ grounds for cutting the grass, to sell it in the market which was used for food of horses. When reached at grade 8th after appearing in the final exams there was a break of 4 months and during that period I worked as helper on a motor bike workshop. In this way I raised could raise some money for my next class. During the 9th and 10th grade I used to work on a doctor’s clinic to earn some money for the tuition fee and books.

College and University Education.

After completed the 10th grade studies I moved to Karachi, it is the biggest city of Pakistan, I joined a college and there was a lot of work opportunities for me. I worked very hard during this period it was even tougher than my work in the past. Following was the time table for four years.

7:30am-8:00 am. Breakfast and getting ready for University.
9:30am- 3:30 pm. University.
4:00pm- 7:00 pm. Teaching students of class 10th grade.
7:00pm- 8:00 pm. Dinner and getting ready for the next job.
8:30pm - 6:00 am. Working as an assistant Laboratory technician in a private lab.

I had only one day to sleep in the whole week, I am thankful to my God, my parents, and my teachers for their efforts that I got distinction in the university. I stood first among the boys in the final exams of B.Sc. At that time I was the only Christian boy so far who scored this position in B.Sc., with this combination in Karachi University.
Professional Life.

Even I got the first position in the university I could not continue my further studies because of the financial challenges and family liabilities on my shoulders. So I joined the pharmaceutical profession at the age of 22. I worked very hard in this profession for 19 years at different capacities from medical representative to sales manager. I am thankful to God that HE blessed me with almost all the blessings that a man could wish for. I have a blessing of beautiful, God fearing, faithful and prudent wife. God blessed my with one son and a daughter both are very active in church and Sunday school. God also blessed me my own home at the age of 35 years. That is very uncommon in Christian Community in Pakistan and I thank God for that.

Christian & Spiritual Life.

I am a regular member of Church since my childhood. I believe that God has a plan in my life predestine, so He made it possible for me to go to Singapore in 2002 for a Christian Leadership Course. I went there and learned all about the different methods of evangelism in different circumstances and situations. I also learned how to evangelize in non-Christians and Audio Visual evangelism. I am also a member of Gideon’s International since 1996 and involved in distribution of the Bibles.
In 2004 I also got the training of discipleship from the Korean missionaries in Pakistan, It was a one year course and after getting the certificate from them we started sharing the Gospel with the people in different villages in Pakistan.
It was my part time evangelism that means I was on job and when ever I get some time I go to villages for sharing the Gospel. I worked as volunteer with Korean missionaries during the earth quake and floods in Pakistan. Then God chose me to do His work as full time evangelist. I left my Job and from 2009, I am working as full time evangelist, sharing the Gospel with people who do not have pastors in their villages. I have done many missionary tours and I have shared the Gospel in almost three of the four provinces in Pakistan. We have preached the Gospel with Muslims, Hindus and many other casts living in Pakistan. Many have accepted the Jesus Christ as their personal savior and thanks God for all the protection and support for this work. During these missionary tours God also showed me the areas on which we should focus for the development of churches in Pakistan, I came across many areas where the pastor are needed , church buildings are needed and many co workers are needed. So we are praying for the laborers to harvest for the kingdom of God.

Recent Personal Testimony.

I have been invited to attend a church planting conference in Nepal. I had this invitation in October 2011. I said to the organizers that I will come to attend the conference but it was very difficult for me to arrange funds for this trip. The conference’s date was 6th -8th Feb.2012. In the month of January 2012 the main speaker Rev. David Kibler asked me to confirm my availability, but I could not reply because I could not arrange the funds. I started praying with fasting and I said to the LORD, if there is your will for me to attend this conference please provide all the funds that I need.
Days were passing like anything and on 10 January Rev. David said to me brother I want to see you in this conference, I do not want to ask him for the funds but he said to me brother let me know what is the problem. I shared with him that I also want to attend this conference but I do not have sufficient funds. He said ok do not worry we will pray for that. On same day one of my friend called me and said brother please pray for us as we want to build a church in Hindu tribe so please pray for the funds. I replied him ok I will pray and I also requested him to pray for me as I need the funds for the conference. He asked me how much do you need for that. I shared with him and he told me do not worry brother we are with you and we will help you as much as we can. Second day Rev. David Kibler sent me a message that one of his friends given me almost 80% of the funds that I needed I was so happy that I can not express my feeling in words. I was dancing like King David on this provision from the God. Same day I have got a call from my friend who asked me to pray for them and told me that they will pay all the rest of amount that I need. Hallelujah… It is a clear indication for me that God wants me to go to Nepal for this conference and HE wants me to work as church planter in Pakistan.
Now I have surrendered myself to God and pray, let the LORD work in my life and fulfill HIS will whatever HE wants from my life. I just want to obey His commands whatever the situation or circumstances are. I will follow HIM, so my dear brothers and sisters please keep me in your regular prayers for wisdom, knowledge and understanding of word of God.

Thanks and God bless you.
Amen.
