A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST - DIED TO THE OLD SELF

Ephesians 4:21 also came through last night at the Bible study along with 1 Corinthians 2:14 (4:21 - same numbers, different order).

 

*Ephesians 4 :21 Assuming that you have really heard Him and been taught by Him, as (all)TRUTH is in JESUS (embodied and personified in Him)

 

OLD SELF

Ephesians 4:22 Strip yourselves of your former nature (put off and discard your old un-renewed self) which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion.

 

LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT

Ephesians 4:23 And be CONSTANTLY renewed in the spirit of your MIND (having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude). 

 

Ephesians 4:24 And put on the new nature (armour of GOD) (the regenerate self) created inGOD'S image. in true righteousness and holiness. 

 

WORKS IN PROGRESS

Ephesians 4: 25 Therefore rejecting all falsity and being done now with it, let everyone express theTRUTH (JESUS CHRIST) with his neighbour, for we are all parts of one body and members one of another (Zech. 8:16)

 

BE TRUE TO CHRIST

Zechariah 8:16 These are the things that you shall do, speak every man the TRUTH (LIKE JESUS CHRIST) with his neighbour ; render (give, provide) the TRUTH and pronounce the judgement or verdict that makes for peace in (the courts at) your gates (Ephesians 4:25). 

 

Zechariah 8:17 And let none of you think or imagine or devise evil or injury in your hearts against his neighbour, and love no false oath, for all these things I HATE SAYS THE LORD. 

 

Ephesians 4:26 When angy do not sin ; do not ever let your wrath (your exasperation or indignation) last until the sun goes down. 

 

Ephesians 4:27 Leave no (such) room or foothold for the devil (give no opportunity for him)..... 

 

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of GOD (do not offend, vex or sadden Him), by Whom you were sealed (marked) branded as GOD'S OWN, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through CHRIST from evil and the consequences of evil)

OLD MAN - TRUTH NOT IN HIM ( *1 John 2:4- numbers the same as * Ephesians 4:21 and * 1 Corinthians 2:14 ) Truly this message is by the Holy Spirit's leading. 

 

*1 Corinthians 2:14

14 BUT the natural nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts, teachings and revelations of the Spirit of GOD, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him and he is incapable of know them (of progressively) recognising, understanding and becoming better acquainted with them) because they (those led by the Holy Spirit) are spiritually discerned, estimated and appreciated. 

 

NEW MAN - THE TRUTH SETS YOU FREE

1 Corinthians 2 :15 BUT the spiritual man tries ALL...things (he examines, investigates, inquires to, questions and discerns all things), yet us himself to be put on trial and judged by no one (he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him. (This is the Holy Spirit) - His thoughts and ways are higher than we can understand - Isaiah 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.

CHRIST THE CHURCH

Ephesians 5:21 Be subject to one another out of reverence for CHRIST (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Ephesians 5:22 Wives be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as (a service) to the LORD.

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is head of the wife as CHRIST is HEAD of the church, Himself the Saviour of His body. 

Ephesians 5:24 As the church is subject to CHRIST, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands.

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, as CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH and gave Himself up for her.

Ephesians 5:26 So that He might SANCTIFY her, having CLEANSED HER by the washing of the WORD. 

Ephesians 5:27 That He might present the CHURCH to HIMSELF in glorious splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such things (that she might be holy and faultless) - Ephesians 4:24.

32 This mystery is very great, but I speak concerning (the relation of) CHRIST and the CHURCH.

THE MIND OF GOD

1 Corinthians 2: 16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the LORD so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge ? BUT we have the MIND OF CHRIST and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of HIS HEART (Isaiah 40:13, Romans 11:34)

 

NEW CREATION

2 Corinthians 5: 15

And He died for all, so that those who might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.

2 Corinthians 5: 17 Therefore if any person ins in CHRIST He IS...a new creation, the old has passed away. Behold the fresh and new has come.

1 Corinthians 2:13 And we are setting these TRUTHS forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the HOLY SPIRIT combining and interpreting spiritual TRUTHS with spiritual language (to those who possess the HOLY SPIRIT)
