"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, 'Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?' that is, 'My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?'" Matthew 27:46

Many believers have recently stepped with the Lord into the great unknown transitioning from one season to the next; a courageous step of obedience.
Yet, so many who have stepped obediently into that moment with great faith have also suddenly felt forsaken while they stand upon the waters of the deep. The journey of promise and the step of faith begin with "God with us"; so to suddenly find ourselves in a moment where we may feel forsaken to our faith and obedience is a cry so deep inside, it can only be heard in your soul and hardly expressed with words.

NOT FORSAKEN - GOD WITH US

But He is not done. You are not done. For the moment Jesus walked through His forsaken moment on the Cross was the moment He changed its definition forever. Forsaken could no longer mean alone or abandoned, because when Jesus walked through it He changed the definition to "God with us" instead. Jesus was forsaken by God so that we will never be forsaken by Him.

One of the last things Jesus went through while upon the Cross, just before He yielded up His Spirit, was that feeling of being forsaken. Yet, that forsaken moment was a doorway to the Cross becoming a full victory.

Trusting the Father through those forsaken moments are among the greatest victories of all, and like Jesus, we are not exempt from that part of the upgrade God is leading us through. Forsaken was one of the most powerful moments of humanity that Jesus had to go through, and to overcome. What we do with "forsaken" empowers what God can do "with" us.

FORSAKEN TURNED TO VICTORY

Jesus foresaw each of our forsaken moments when He overcame that forsaken feeling on the Cross. And remember, there is a big difference between feeling forsaken and actually being forsaken. The enemy uses forsaken to try and make us feel isolated and alone, but Jesus lived that forsaken moment so we would never be alone and could pass through that moment knowing that just like Jesus, it is a moment that moves us into our victory with Him.

We must not get stuck in that forsaken feeling, but move into the resurrection glory awaiting on the other side.
Your forsaken moment with Him is the very moment you become marked as an overcomer in Him that did not and would not let go, even when we "felt" let go of.
The cup of victory is waiting for us on the other side. On the first day Jesus tasted the bitter ache of forsaken, but on the third day He drank freely from the "cup of victory" and poured out that same taste of the Father's goodness for us all to freely enjoy.

"To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations." - Isaiah 61:3-4

It's at that moment when our trust of Him overcomes our feelings and circumstances that we steadfastly step forward.
For God, it is easy to restore to us at any moment. But what He is doing in us through the process of our "forsaken" moments is turning us into restorers who will carry that same anointing out to share His victory with the world.

DO NOT GIVE UP -- DO NOT LET GO

You are not alone for your "forsaken" feeling was already redefined as "God with us" and already prophesies victory; you must simply drink of that cup. Cling to the goodness of the Father and move into the new glory and enjoy that cup of victory on the other side. Yours will taste of something you've never tasted before!
