The Holy Spirit is "the Helper" not "the Doer." He will do His part, but He expects us to do ours. It is good to be able to recognize the work of the Holy Spirit, but we must not stop there. We must go on to seek Him for what our part is and then do it.
We must constantly seek to understand what God wants us to become (our DESTINY). - (Matthew 7:7)
Some measure of repentance always precedes the implementation of Gods CALLING on a persons life. To "prepare" and "make ready" is the purpose of repentance. Let us be sure we understand: John's repentance did not merely make men sorry, it made men ready.
IMPORTANCE OF DESIRING TO BE LIKE HIM
True repentance is to turn over the soil of the heart for a new planting of directives from God. It is a vital aspect in the overall sphere of spiritual maturity. To truly change your mind takes time and effort. John's command to the Jews was to "bear fruit in keeping with your repentance" (Matthew 3:8).
We have been promised, "He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6).
As long as we desire to be like Him, His rebuke will be a door into His presence and our DESTINY in Christ.
When we get a vision from God, we step out to do something with it. We are not like the wicked and lazy servant who can't see beyond himself. (Matthew 25:24-30)
CALLED TO BE SALT AND LIGHT
We cannot be the salt and light we are called to be without being engaged in these times. Jesus called those who were more devoted to understanding the weather than the signs of the times "hypocrites." To be the light we are called to be, it is crucial that we understand these times.
Because the Spirit "searches all things, even the depths of God" (see 1 Corinthians 2:10), no one who is truly led by the Spirit will be shallow in their understanding. If we are led by the Spirit, we will love the truth enough to seek it out. We will be compelled to have a depth to our knowledge.
Ephesians 4:23-24 "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye PUT ON the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."
(We have to PUT ON walking in the Spirit.) ie. We make the decision each day to be led by our spirit rather than our soul (mind, will, and emotions). We walk with our spirit being led by the Holy Spirit.
The world is getting darker, fast. However, we are here for a reason. In times of greater darkness, greater light is needed and will be given. As deep darkness covers the earth, it will be our greatest occasion of all time to walk with God and be His messengers.
Do you have the message?
Are you beholding the glory of the Lord?
Can others behold His glory on you?
A SUPERIOR COVENANT
"But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which He is meadiator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises." -- Hebrews 8:6
We are told in 2 Corinthians 3 that we should be experiencing more glory than Moses did. We have a better covenant than Moses had. We can have a closer relationship to God than Moses did, and Moses met with Him face to face. Even so, and much better than that, He has come to live in us! He never leaves us.
HEARING THE LORD'S VOICE
The Holy Spirit is opening the ears of believers to hear more clearly the Voice of God. All who are seeking to hear will hear the Lord's voice clearly. "Be still and know that He is God" (see Psalm 46:10-11). Behold the Heavens--they will clearly speak the Lord's message. The release of revelation will increase, therefore, ask for your spiritual ears and eyes to be opened (see Ephesians 1:17-18).
Do we see the One who lives within us?
Do we see His glory?
If we do, others will see it in us.
