Tearing Down Strongholds

2 Corinthians 10:4 -- For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

 

A stronghold is a satanic force that starts as a thought, then lays its foundation in a person's mind, builds itself up and makes its abode there.

You can't simply cast down a stronghold as you would cast down an evil thought or imagination. You need the word of God to become like a hammer in your life in order to tear down that stronghold and get it out of your system.

 

Hebrews 4:12 -- For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.........

Proverbs 4:17 -- My son, attend to my words........

Proverbs 18:10 -- The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous run to it and are safe.

 

 

Questions To Ask Myself

 

What stronghold in my life needs to be demolished?

 

How can I get rid of a stronghold? By having a strong tower!

What word or words of God am I going to use for my strong tower?

I find when a way of thinking trys to paralyze me, GOD HIMSELF gives me the verse or verses to counter satan's lie.  As the waiting on promises gets long, there are times when the enemy whispers... it isn't going to happen... immediately, I quote aloud, Numbers 23:19 GOD is not a man that HE should lie....

 

Yesterday's attack came after a crisis and I clung to the truth that when physical manifestations come to earth there is spiritual battles about to happen in the heavenlies ... as Psalm 83:2 says, your enemies are making noise, those who hate you are getting ready to attack.  

 

These things we see allow us opportunity to pray and prepare.  And then I quote, 2 Corinthians 4:17,18  that these situations/ problems are achieving awesome things for us that far outweigh the pain of the problem.  So focus not on the situation,  but on what GOD is using it to achieve for us.  For the situation is temporary but what GOD is achieving is eternal.
